Web Serial Writing Month marks the return of About Schuyler Falls, one of the earliest and longest-running webfiction serials.
During WeSeWriMo, and in the lead-up to ASF's fifteenth anniversary online, we return to production with the episodes that will at long last end the fourth season arc. Here are hints of what to expect in the weeks ahead:
Jem's wild schemes are set to topple upon his head when the investigation into his torching of his own building and his role behind Chelsea's kidnapping could destroy him. It'll take a miracle to keep Jem from financial ruin, jail, or a death sentence from the goons he's scammed -- and Schuyler Falls isn't exactly blessed lately.
As Greg and Rena grow closer, Chelsea's new presence in Greg's life causes serious temptation as she leans on him for much-needed support, fearing the risky surgery to restore her hearing may not go as hoped. Will Rena be forced to go farther than she's prepared to keep her boyfriend's attention? Her romantic life might be cut short, along with the rest of her life, when Jem's chickens come home to roost and her knowledge becomes a big liability.
Tristan's team-up with Cameron changes his mindset when he accepts playing nice won't get him the revenge he seeks against those who've betrayed him. His first assignment is that of a Judas Goat, with false attempts at helping a troubled relative who's actually intended as a sacrificial lamb. This only emboldens him for even more treacherous behavior, especially as his feelings for Beth churn from love to hate and everything between--and without knowing she's carrying his child, much less anything about her mental illness, Tristan is determined to get her back or take them both down a hellish path. But Beth's own struggle toward healing herself pulls her toward a different man entirely.
Danielle toys with her prey in a series of sadistic games aimed at Ian, Daphne, and Martina. Daphne is caught in Danny's web and doesn't realize how easily manipulated she is by the older woman who still wants her stepson under her thumb--among other body parts. As Ian uses Daphne to prove he's beyond Danielle's control, Daphne's life and heart are both in danger, and her loyal boyfriend Tyler, determined to fight for her, has no idea just how deadly the stakes are in this warped triangle.
Martina has her hands full dealing with her agonizing trauma, not knowing how she ended up in bed with Alex, except certain that she wouldn't have been there willingly. Unable to solve this mystery, she fills her days standing by her friend Clark, whose legal troubles escalate thanks to Ross's vindictive campaign aimed at doing anything to get rid of his own conflicted feelings for his former friend. Ross's increasingly cold-hearted behavior begins to worry other members of his legal team, and could put his plans--and even his life--in jeopardy.
Ross and cops' infamous Operation Mousetrap intended to be sprung by the Nichols family--but they've been double- and triple-crossed by increasingly desperate undercover agent Jonnie, who's playing every side against the other in a terrifying balancing act. His terror and frustration pair him with an unlikely partner, desperately needing a port in the imminent storm.
Will the wedding between Laurie Nichols and Victor Fiore ever take place amid the scheming that surrounds the nuptials... especially since no one seems fully certain that this trip down the aisle isn't cursed? All the puzzle pieces fall into place on this supposedly joyful day, and almost everyone in town will be affected by the vows and their aftermath.
All this and more as About Schuyler Falls' epic fourth season crashes to its unbelievably overdue finale this autumn.
